Elje / Partners

The partner network

Elje never touches the goods. Four kinds of partner do the physical work: the inspector at the factory, the forwarder on the water, the customs broker at the border and the installer on site. This is how they are chosen, what they sign and what they are paid.

Where the network stands

We are signing the first partners now, starting with South East Queensland and the Foshan inspection market. No partner is listed on this site until their agreement is signed and their licence and insurance are checked. Until then every page in this section explains the standard, not the roster.

The four roles

PartnerWhat they do on your jobWhen they are booked
InspectorChecks the finished order at the factory against your drawings and the golden sample, before the balance is releasedIn the Project Plan, before you order
Freight forwarderBooks the container or shared space, collects from the factory, insures the cargo and moves it to your port and siteIn the Project Plan, confirmed when production starts
Customs brokerClassifies the goods, lodges the import declaration, applies the free trade certificate of origin and clears biosecurityWith the forwarder
InstallerReceives, checks and fits the goods on site, where your own builder or trades are not doing itBefore the goods land, if you want one

How partners are chosen

  • A current licence where the work needs one: a customs broker licence from the Australian Border Force, a builder or trade licence in the installer's state.
  • Insurance that matches the risk of the work, checked at sign-up and every year after.
  • References from Australian clients, and a trial job reviewed before they are offered to other buyers.
  • A signed copy of the partner standards, which are public.
  • Prices that are quoted to you in writing before you commit, with Elje's referral fee shown on the quote.

How partners are paid, and how Elje is paid by them

You pay each partner directly for their work, at the price on their quote. Elje does not mark it up and does not hold the money.

Partners pay Elje a referral fee when a job they were introduced to goes ahead: about $400 a job for the forwarder and broker, and about 10% of the install for an installer. The fee is printed on your quote, so you can see what the partner pays to be introduced. Nobody pays for a better position in a list.

Questions

Can I use my own forwarder, broker or installer?

Yes. The Project Plan names our partners as the default, and you can swap any of them for your own. Inspection stays third-party either way if you take Elje Assured.

Are partners Elje employees?

No. Each partner is its own business, licensed and insured in its own name, and contracts with you directly for its work.

Why are no partners listed yet?

Because none has finished sign-up. We list a partner only once the agreement is signed and the checks are done.
