Freight forwarders
For forwarders with their own operation in South China and in Australia who can move a house worth of fit-out from a Foshan factory to an Australian site, door to door.
What the work is
Mostly residential fit-outs: one or two factories per job, between a few cubic metres in a shared container and a full 40-foot container. Pick-up from factories around Foshan and Shenzhen, export clearance, sea freight to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Fremantle, and delivery to a building site, often with a tail-lift or crane.
What we ask
- Your own staff or a named agent at origin, able to collect from the factory and check carton counts against the packing list.
- Shared-container (LCL) and own-container (FCL) rates, published to us monthly, with every port, terminal and delivery charge shown.
- Marine cargo insurance offered on every shipment, with the cover and excess written on the quote.
- A licensed customs broker, in house or named, and ISPM 15 compliance on all wood packaging.
- Membership of an industry body such as the Freight & Trade Alliance or a FIATA member association.
- Tracking updates to the buyer at pick-up, departure, arrival and release.
- The partner standards, signed.
What you get
- Shipments that are booked in the Project Plan weeks before the goods are ready, so you can plan the space.
- A buyer who has already been through the landed price, so there are no surprises at the port.
- Clean paperwork: the factory's commercial invoice and packing list are checked against the inspection report before you collect.
What it costs you
When a job Elje introduced ships with you, you and the broker together pay Elje a referral fee of about $400. It is disclosed to the buyer on the quote. Your rates to the buyer are your own and are paid to you directly.

Questions
Will Elje consolidate shipments?
Where two buyers ship from the same area in the same week, we will offer them a shared container through one forwarder. The forwarder runs the consolidation, not Elje.
Do you need DAFF approved arrangements?
We prefer forwarders and brokers who operate under or work with a biosecurity approved arrangement, as it shortens clearance. It is not required to apply.
