The Elje rules
The rules we hold ourselves to, printed where you can check us against them.
You pay the factory direct and the balance waits with a licensed escrow partner, never with Elje. Elje is paid by you for the plan and Assured, and by the factory. Every fee is on the quote.
The rules
- Landed price or no price. Every price we publish is landed to an Australian site, or it is labelled as something else. We never show a bare factory price.
- Compliance before catalogue. A product goes on a shortlist only after its compliance is checked: WaterMark and WELS, slip ratings, glass, electrical, timber, biosecurity, and no asbestos or engineered stone.
- Every fee printed, both sides. Every quote shows what you pay Elje and what the factory pays Elje.
- No paid ranking. Factories pay to be audited and eligible, never to rank higher. The scorecard alone orders them.
- Factory names only at introduction. Until you choose to be introduced, factories appear by code.
- No customer list for sale. Your details go to a factory or partner only as an introduction you agreed to.
- Inspection on every order. Assured is on by default. If you decline it, you sign that inspection is yours to arrange, and we still tell you to have one.
- We never hold your money, own the goods or hold stock. A licensed escrow partner holds the balance.
- We tell you when local is better. If a like-for-like local quote beats the landed price, we say buy local.
- We never call ourselves independent. Factories pay us, and we say so.
If we break one
