What the work is

• Pre-shipment inspection on every order: finished, at least 80% packed, before the balance is released.
• During-production checks on custom joinery, at 20 to 60% complete.
• Pre-production checks on board, veneer and stone slabs where the job needs it.
• Container loading checks on consolidated orders.

The standard we ask for

• Inspection against the buyer's drawings and the golden sample, not only the factory's own specification.
• ISO 2859-1 sampling at general level II for mass-produced lines, with zero critical defects allowed. Every piece checked on custom joinery.
• On-site tests: carton drop, colour under standard light, moisture on timber, and function on every door, drawer and tap.
• A report within 24 hours of the visit, in English, with a photo for every defect and a clear pass, fail or pending.
• No commercial relationship with the factory being inspected, and no fee or gift from it.
• The partner standards, signed.

Why it matters on Elje

Under Elje Assured, the balance of the order is held by a licensed escrow partner until the inspection passes. Your report is the thing that releases the money. That is why we ask for more than a standard product inspection, and why the inspector is chosen before the order is placed.

What it costs you

Nothing. Inspection is paid for by the buyer, through Elje Assured, at the rate you quote. Elje does not take a referral fee from inspectors, because the inspector has to be free of any pull from either side.
