Container planner
Will your order fill its own container, or share one? Cubic metres, weight and cost. Being built; here is how it will work.
A whole house fills its own container. A room's worth shares one and pays by the cubic metre.
How it will work
- Add your lines: joinery by room, tiles by m2, stone by slab, doors, windows, tapware.
- It estimates volume (CBM) and weight for each line.
- It tells you whether you fit a shared container, a 20 ft, a 40 ft or a 40 ft high cube.
- It compares the landed cost of each option for your port and postcode.
The container sizes
Windows and glass often ship in their own steel-framed packaging, sometimes in their own container, as they did on the house we fitted out.
| Container | Usable volume, about | What it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Shared (LCL) | Pay per CBM | One bathroom, tapware, lighting |
| 20 ft | 33 CBM, weight-limited for tiles at about 1,000 m2 | A whole house of tiles, or one house of joinery |
| 40 ft | 67 CBM | A whole-house fit-out |
| 40 ft high cube | 76 CBM | A whole-house fit-out with tall joinery |
Until it is live
The landed estimate tells you which container your order needs and what each option costs.
