Metalwork and pavers ride with the house. Outdoor furniture is bulky and soft: approve every detail in writing.
What to check before you order
- Balustrades: 1,000 mm minimum where a fall is over 1 m, 125 mm maximum openings, engineered fixings
- Outdoor floors: P4 or P5
- Bushfire-prone blocks: products suited to your BAL
- Pool fences: AS 1926.1 and AS 1288 glass
- Timber and rattan: illegal logging and biosecurity

Questions
Do railings need engineering?
The balustrade must meet the NCC's height, opening and load requirements. An Australian engineer should sign off the fixing to your structure.
