Elje / How it works

Managed Order

Factory price plus 10%, with Elje Assured included. One payment schedule, one person at Elje running the order, the same partners doing the physical work.

You pay the factory direct and the balance waits with a licensed escrow partner, never with Elje. Elje is paid by you for the plan and Assured, and by the factory. Every fee is on the quote.

When it makes sense

  • Several factories on one job and you do not want to coordinate them.
  • Goods from different factories that need to be consolidated into one container.
  • You or your builder are short of time between approval and lock-up.

What Elje does

  • Places and follows up each factory order against the Project Plan.
  • Books and reads every inspection, and chases the factory on anything that fails.
  • Arranges consolidation, the container, customs clearance and delivery through our forwarder and broker.
  • Keeps one schedule of every payment due, to whom and when.
  • Runs any defect claim through the factory and partners under Assured.

What it costs, on a $60,000 order

An estimate from our worked example. Whether the $990 is credited against the Managed Order fee on your job is confirmed in writing before you choose Managed Order.

Who holds the money

Still not Elje. You are still the importer and the order is still in your name. Payments for the goods go to the factory or to the licensed escrow partner, never to an Elje account. The single schedule is how you see them, not where the money goes.

Questions

Is the factory's commission still paid?

If the factory pays Elje a commission on the order, it is printed on your quote, as on every job.

Can I switch to Managed Order after the Project Plan?

Yes, any time before the first factory order is placed.
