Certificate check
This tool will let you enter an EL code or a certificate number and see the evidence Elje holds for that item. It is not live yet. Here is how it will work, and how to check a product yourself today.
How it will work
- Enter an EL code from your Project Plan, or the certificate or licence number printed on a product or its box.
- See the standard that applies, the certificate or test report, who issued it, and when it expires.
- See the date Elje last checked it against the public register.
- Download the document for your certifier or builder.
Check it yourself now
| What | Where to check | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Taps, showers, toilets, basins, valves | The ABCB WaterMark product search | A current WaterMark licence that names the exact model and the lead free mark where it applies |
| Water rating on taps, showers, toilets | The WELS product register | A registration number matching the model and its star rating |
| Lights, heated towel rails, anything plugged in or wired | The EESS national database | A registered responsible supplier in Australia and a certificate for in-scope equipment |
| Glass in showers, doors and windows | The test report against AS 1288 and AS 2208, and your state regulator's guidance | Testing by an accredited lab, and markings on each pane |
Overseas test reports
Products tested overseas can be fine, but the report has to come from a lab your certifier can rely on and has to cover the product actually supplied. In Queensland the QBCC sets out what it expects from imported products tested outside Australia. Elje holds each report against its EL code for that reason.
If a certificate does not check out
Tell us through the contact form with the EL code. The item comes off sale until the evidence is fixed, and every buyer with it on order is told.
