Elje / Compliance

For certifiers

Every Elje job will come with one compliance pack: each item, the standard it falls under and the evidence for it, in the order a building certifier needs it. This is what will be in it.

What is in the pack

  • A product schedule: every item on the job with its EL code, location in the house and the factory code.
  • Plumbing: WaterMark licence numbers and WELS registrations for every tap, mixer, shower, toilet and valve.
  • Glass: test reports to AS 1288 and AS 2208 for shower screens, glazed doors and windows, with the marking on each pane.
  • Floors: slip resistance test reports to AS 4586 for wet-area and external tiles.
  • Electrical: EESS registration and certificates for in-scope lights and appliances.
  • Fire: test reports where a fire rating applies to the item.
  • Boards: formaldehyde emission class test reports for cabinetry and panels.
  • Timber: the illegal logging due diligence record.
  • Stone and tiles: asbestos-free test results, and confirmation that no engineered stone is supplied.
  • The third-party pre-shipment inspection report for the order.

How it reaches you

The pack is built in the Project Plan, before the order is placed, so gaps are found while there is time to fix them. The buyer or builder sends it to you with the building application or before the relevant inspection. Elje will answer a certifier's question on any item directly.

Where this stands

No Elje job has reached certification yet. When the first pack is used, a redacted copy will go up here. If you are a certifier, we would like to hear what you need to see. Tell us through the contact form, marked Certifier, and we will build the pack to it.

Questions

Does Elje certify anything?

No. Elje collects and checks the evidence. Certification is the job of the licensed certifier and the testing bodies.

What if an item has no Australian test report?

It stays off the order until there is evidence the certifier can accept, or it is swapped for one that has it.
